After wanting to do wild camping for ages my wife and I finally had our opportunity this weekend past, so of we went to Glencoe in the Scottish highlands, to a Glen called Glen Etive.

The weather was not entirely favourable according to the forecast but we pressed on anyway. After a 2.5 hour drive we arrived at the mouth of Loch Etive and set up camp. Pitching the tent wasn’t too difficult considering this was the first time with this tent.

The views down Loch Etive (photo on the left) and the surrounding mountains I have to say are fantastic and very much worth the journey, we only planned to stay one night which considering how cold it was overnight is just as well!

Overnight, we had everything from high winds, pouring rain and even temperatures low enough to form frost on the outside of the tent from the rain! We did however have a great time, we laughed a lot about the absurdity of some of it, we also met some really nice people who were also camping that weekend. And of course lots of other day trippers, especially fellow photographers!
